My name is Laurel. And this is my online journal. I am a development manager for a small nonprofit in Kansas City, MO by day (okay, and often by night as well!). In my “spare” time, I am a designer of other people’s websites, graphic designer, and crafter/scrapbooker.
This blogs represents me and my thoughts and flaws.
I am a wife.
I am the proud owner of 2 rescued puppies (Chloe + Floyd).
I am the step-mother to 2 great kids - who are no longer kids.
I am an aunt to some amazing kids - both of whom rule my world.
I am a sister.
I am a workaholic who wouldn’t have it any other way.
I lived in Morocco for two years with the Peace Corps. It was the best of times and by far the worst. Ask me anything about that time and I will gladly answer.
I am passionate about helping those who have less than I do either because of birth or circumstance or choice.
I am an avid collector of quotes.
I am sarcastic.
My mother is an amazing sewer.
I am not. (But I often dream of the things I would make if I was.)
I try not to take myself too seriously, but often fail.
I try not to take others too seriously, but often fail.
I love to take pictures and every now and then I get one I like.
I hate to have pictures taken of me.
I am flawed.
I am well-aware of those flaws and don’t need them pointed out to me.
My blog is - for better or for worse - completely owned and operated by me and in no way reflects the views, opinions or anything else of my employer.
